The housing is affordable plastic and poorly assembled. The ready milds had fallen out and didn't fit proper. Molding flash on the plastic sections used to ben't even trimmed.
Reviews for Gaggia 16109 Evolution Semi-Automatic Espresso Machine, Silver and Chrome (Kitchen) Although I would prefer the unit to be all stainless, that is unrealistic expectation at this price point. The internals are the same as higher valued Gaggia units and it makes a fantastic cup of espresso. I use the Evolution to make at least four double shots day-to-day and it by no means misses a beat. The Evolution is simple to operate, easy to wash and is ready to use in less than 5 minutes. I highly recommend this unit and would buy the Evolution again.
If you might be concerned concerning the "plastic" exterior, purchase the Gaggia Classic or any other better worthd unit as a substitute.

* the unit appears nice on my countertop with the stainless-steel accents

The dangerous ...
* the guidance had been in a couple of languages and the english part was complicated (I watched several movies on the internet and that helped alot!)
* there have been a couple of equipment that did now not come with my unit so I needed to spend somewhat $ prior to the drinks obtained easier to make (a frothing cup, a thermometer that clips onto the cup, a carafe for the espresso.) I may have long gone with none of those, but they without a doubt helped
* the frothing wand is so low that I can not discover a frothing cup that matches underneath it. I just maintain a bit milk spill on my countertop everytime (I just ordered an automatic frother so I with a bit of luck wont be the utilization of the frothing wand a lot longer
